FADING MONTMARTRE
Memory fades. Details of a place become abstract.
We return from travels with the memory of the place and as time passes we begin to lose the details.
I have tried to capture this fleeting memory in paintings, drawings, and watercolors based on sketches completed on location.
While there in Montmartre I tried to realize the feeling of this community–it's subtleties and colors.
Realizing that this would fade after returning to the United States. These paintings are a document to this experience.
